Mid-Michigan Recycling (MMR) is a leading wood waste company
dedicated to the reuse, recycling and recovery of wood waste
and other renewable materials. Our goal is to work in
collaboration with our clients to seek the best,
environmentally friendly, and most economical solution for
their wood waste. MMR handles over 1.5 million cubic yards of wood waste annually. All acceptable wood is recycled, none is landfilled. Mid-Michigan Recycling, L.C. (MMR) is an
authorized Michigan Department of Environmental Quality wood
waste recycling company.
MMR’s corporate office is headquartered in Jackson, Michigan
and its operating office is located in Flint, Michigan. It
was established in 1993 for the purpose of
establishing and operating wood waste recycling facilities
in southern Michigan and to serve the needs of the Genesee
Power Station (GPS). GPS is a 35 megawatt wood waste fired
cogeneration plant that produces process steam and
electricity from wood waste and other renewable materials.
The process steam is available to the adjacent industrial
park and the electricity, enough for 28,000 households, is
sold wholesale to Consumers Energy under a thirty five year
contract serving the “green” electric needs of Michigan. GPS
is ISO 14000 Quality System Standard compliant.
