Frequently Asked Questions

Construction Wood

Contractors often have wood-based waste materials left over at the completion of construction projects. In the past, this waste was burned, buried, or landfilled. Today, Mid-Michigan Recycling can provide a service to contractors by receiving and processing this wood waste for the environmental benefit of generating steam and electricity from this carbon neutral source. Construction wood that is available for recycling includes wooden pallets and crating, in addition to cut off ends of lumber, plywood and other wood- based construction materials. Mid-Michigan Recycling is permitted by the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality to receive and process these materials.

MMR is in position to provide a green solution to disposal of wood waste, saving space in landfills and providing one more use for waste wood. Working with MMR is a means for business and industry to participate in an environmentally sound reuse of wood, a renewable resource.
